The work deals with questions and mechanisms of getting stuck in the past.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Jan Hellgren<\/strong>\u2019s <em>12 x Visual Poetry <\/em>uses old, distressed materials as means of poetic expression. The selection of sketches draws from Hellgren\u2019s tumblr-blog titled <em>iida<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Jake Zawlacki<\/strong>\u2019s handwritten visual poem <em>Man O\u2019 War\u2019s Drift <\/em>quite literally turns the head of its reader.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Maija Saksman<\/strong>\u2019s performative video poem <em>PoeTRY! <\/em>focuses on a reading of an asemic poem, a 43-meter long <em>M\u00e4nty <\/em>(\u201cA Pinetree\u201d) ny <strong>Heidi Halonen<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Year 2022 in Nokturno ends with an interactive work by <strong>Lea Kalenius<\/strong>. <em>Satunnaisuuden sumussa <\/em>(\u201cIn the fog randomness\u201d) draws its inspiration from <strong>Jean-Paul Sartre<\/strong>\u2019s novel <em>Nausea <\/em>(1938), and asks the reader to tread one\u2019s own path made of words by choosing the order in which the poem unravels itself.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Next Nokturno will see the (hopefully stronger) light of day in late January, 2023.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Miikka Laihinen<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A four-part poetry film series Toxic Love Cycle, by Maryam Ghouth, approaches a suffocating relationship from the point of view of psychological projection.
