{"id":4310,"date":"2017-12-19T12:15:48","date_gmt":"2017-12-19T10:15:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/u58954.www1.webdomain.fi\/hallinta\/three-dimensional-letters-and-scenes-in-the-kitchen\/"},"modified":"2020-06-15T09:52:48","modified_gmt":"2020-06-15T06:52:48","slug":"three-dimensional-letters-and-scenes-in-the-kitchen","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nokturno.fi\/en\/three-dimensional-letters-and-scenes-in-the-kitchen\/","title":{"rendered":"Three-Dimensional Letters And Scenes in the Kitchen"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The last issue of 2017 brings you inter-arts poetry, video and sound and two overviews to early Finnish poetry generators.<\/p>\n<p>Our series of essays on <strong>Arto Kyt\u00f6honka<\/strong>, pioneer in Finnish digital poetry, complements with two essays on Kyt\u00f6honka\u00b4s poetry generators. <strong>Teemu Ikonen<\/strong>\u00b4s <a href=\"http:\/\/nokturno.fi\/poem\/runous-ihmisen-jalkeen-arto-kytohonka-konerunouden-juurilla\">essay<\/a> addresses the subject from academic point of view and in a broader international context where as <strong>Heikki Saure<\/strong>\u00b4s <a href=\"http:\/\/nokturno.fi\/poem\/missa-on-mika-tahansa-nappain\">essay<\/a> provides a concrete overview on the birth and audience reception of the generators. Ikonen\u00b4s essay is also published in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tulijasavu.net\/\">Tuli&amp;Savu<\/a> poetry magazine this month.<\/p>\n<p>Active in Finland\u00b4s multilingual poetry scene <strong>Daniel Malpica<\/strong> has collaborated with the Japanese sound artist <strong>Tomomi Adachi<\/strong> in creating a performance based on Malpica\u00b4s recent poetry book <i>Written with X<\/i>. <a href=\"http:\/\/nokturno.fi\/poem\/time-to-deliver-x3\"><em>Time to deliver: X\u00b3<\/em><\/a> combines 3D printing, multilingual poetry and sound art. The video now published in Nokturno is a documentation of the performance seen as part of CON_TEXT 2017, series of events organized by Lettr\u00e9tage Literature House in Berlin.<\/p>\n<p>In this issue Nokturno presents <a href=\"http:\/\/nokturno.fi\/poem\/three-video-poems\">three video poems<\/a> from <strong>Marc Neys<\/strong>, also known as Swoon. Videos <em>Aleppo<\/em>, <em>Despedida \u2013 Farewell<\/em> and <em>The Grave Dug by Beasts<\/em> include poetry from <strong>Howie Good<\/strong>, <strong>Cec\u00edlia Meireles<\/strong> and <strong>Dave Bonta<\/strong>. In his videos Swoon brings together visual material from various sources and combines them with carefully designed music and soundscapes. There\u00b4s also sound poetry from <strong>Hanna Storm<\/strong>, <a href=\"http:\/\/nokturno.fi\/poem\/kaksi-aanirunoa-0\">the two poems<\/a> originate from a poetry-sound installation <em>Kapeasta laidasta kiertyv\u00e4 jatkuva kehyst\u00e4minen<\/em>, exhibited at gallery Third Space in Helsinki earlier this year.<\/p>\n<p>Last but not least, we have <a href=\"http:\/\/nokturno.fi\/poem\/kaksi-runoa-0\">two poems<\/a> from <strong>Sanna R\u00e4m\u00f6<\/strong> and a video poem from poet and publisher Susinukke Kosola (alias <strong>Daniil Kozlov<\/strong>). R\u00e4m\u00f6\u00b4s <em>Alaviite<\/em> (Footnote) turns around the relatedness of a text and a footnote on a sheet of paper. The poem is published together with an untitled poem exploring the outskirts of language. Susinukke Kosola\u00b4s video poem <a href=\"http:\/\/nokturno.fi\/poem\/rojusi-ovat-lyhytnakoisyyteni-patsaita\"><em>Rojusi ovat lyhytn\u00e4k\u00f6isyyteni patsaita<\/em><\/a> uses dramatic music to create a background to an everyday kitchen scene slowly diving into morphosis.<\/p>\n<p>We\u00b4ll be publishing new poetry next time in February 2018.
